I tend to say we should keep this match and list it "non-FIFA" because it has actually been played (in front of an attendance), and just one extra sub does not imply the match is null and void...

Yes, I put it into our catch all category (Non-FIFA). We've had matches in the past with seven substitutions, where national FA's appealed to FIFA to still count the game as a full FIFA match, and FIFA has said yes. It happened to England once, relatively shortly after that stupid rule was introduced, if I remember correctly. Let's see what happens, if they change it again it's only four or five clicks for us. ;)

  • Henry Lopez - remove from New York Cosmos. Apparently he was released during the offseason.
Robbie Rogers - add to Los Angeles Galaxy. Back with the club. Made 4 appearances during his loan stint with Los Angeles Galaxy-2.
Rodney Wallace - add to Arizona United (USL Pro (3. League)). Currently on loan with the club as he continues to recover from his ACL injury.

  • Lawrence Olum - 2011; His 1 goal with Orlando City came in the playoffs which is basically considered a cup match. So his stat with Orlando should say 21 appearances and 0 goals.

  • The game between Macedonia and Qatar played last month has been listed as Non-FIFA game, but the game is indeed on the FIFA calender and counted in the statistics and included in the calculations in the last update of the ranking table..

  • Which, given that Macedonia used 9 substitutes and Qatar reports indicate that they used their whole squad except for two players, yet again shows the inconsistency of FIFA. I suspect that it will be deleted eventually from their lists but probably after a long time!

I think we have to keep it as a Non-FIFA game. I'm happy to leave games with seven substitutions, which are on the FIFA site, as full A-internationals. There is a bit of leeway there, as there have been succesful appeals.

It doesn't work with nine substitutions, though. This cannot be a full FIFA game under any account, with the rules being as they are.

FIFA has loads of mistakes in their databse, missing continental qualifiers, games with 10 substitions (after the introduction of the six players exchange rule) and so on. They just aren't always right on their site, and we have to live with that.

  • Rodney Wallace - back with Portland Timbers. Made 2 appearances and scored 1 goal during his loan stint with Arizona United.
Akira Kaji - add to CD Chivas USA. Made 6 appearances for Gamba Osaka prior to his move.

  • Alvas Powell - add to Sacramento Republic. On a short term loan from Portland Timbers.

George Williams - got a couple things to add
*2011/12; played for Milton Keynes Dons. Made 2 appearances for the club that year.
*2012/13; played for Fulham FC. OK he didn't really play for them, he was just on the roster. 0 appearances.

  • Vilamu Sekifu correct name is Viliamu Sekifu
He was played on FC Tofaga from 1998-2010
In 2010 he played on 1 match and he doesn't scored a goal
In 2009 he scored 6 goals
In 2008 he scored 12 goals

  • Indonesia - 2014
Matches against Dominican Republic, Pakistan and Nepal are all non-FIFA. Stats should be adjusted accordingly. However, for the match against Dom. Republic, Indonesia fielded their U23's. So the question is if the stats should still be retained. I personally say no. And for the game against Pakistan, Pakistan used their U23's and the same question is posed. Apparenly, their coach has been using their U23's as the senior team but that's unconfirmed, plus AFC U22 qualifiers and the Asian Games take place this year which could explain the usage of the U23's. So again, I say it should probably be deleted rather than moved to non-FIFA stats. The referee for that game was "P. Hadi" and doesn't seem to be FIFA registered which supports the idea that the match was an unofficial/practice game and not meant to be an 'A' match.

CAF World Cup qualifiers - June 2013
Please double check these matches. I've come across a couple, such as the ZIM 2-4 EGY and SUD 1-3 GHA fixtures. Times of goals/subs doesn't seem to be correct and in the former, Salah is missing a third goal.

  • Referee's name is actually Hadi Prasetyo. He's a regular ref in the top flight in Indonesia but no, he's not on the FIFA list. It is interesting how we seem to operate on different criteria for Asia and Africa, compared to the "big" countries. If you just had the German team line-up from their recent friendly game against Poland in front of you would you describe that as a full international? Of the 17 players used, less than half of them made it to Brazil. In the old days this would have been a B international - the same could be said for a large number of Italian friendlies over the last few years. The Brazil - Argentina "Superclassico" games are really only the equivalent of friendly matches played by African CHAN type teams as only home based players were considered. FIFA say that home and away fans should both be able to get tickets easily for matches for them to be considered as A games - where does that leave matches played in North Korea? FIFA says governments should not interfere in football - Israel regularly refuses visas to Gaza based Palestinian players trying to join up with their national team. FIFA says that the strongest available team should be used for a match to be considered as an A game - where does that leave the World Cup match between England and Costa Rica where Roy Hodgson declares an intention to use the players who haven't turned out in the earlier matches? Presumably if it was his strongest team, he'd have picked it earlier!

No criticism is intended here to anyone on the forum - it's just to point out that FIFA statutes don't really mean anything, and that a game that both countries regard as an A international should be treated as one, whatever FIFA might think.
