Both countries seem to see it as a full international, from what I can gather.

Here are mine: This world cup may not even take place, or it may be boycotted by countries. Surely noone expects Iran to play there, but it could all become even much more complicated.

If it goes ahead, this would be my predictions.

    Favourites:

    1. Spain

    2. Argentina

    3. England

    4. France

    Top challengers:

    5. Portugal

    6. Brazil

    7. Netherlands

    8. Germany

    Best of the rest:

    9. Italy (If they qualify)

    10. Colombia

    11. Norway

    12. Belgium

    13. Morocco

    14. Uruguay

    15. Croatia

    16. Ecuador

    17. Senegal

    18. Japan

    19. Denmark (If they qualify)

    20. Switzerland

Other interesting teams: The three hosts, Turkey (If they qualify), Ivory Coast, Algeria, Austria.

I made a decision, as we need one: We will include Olympics between 1948 and 1980. We will add all games from this olympic timer period as non-FIFA, and we will only add line-ups for the teams which consider these games to be full internationals. So not for any south american teams, and not for most western european teams. I will start with Iran today.

    Missing data found:

    Player: Nicolas King (Vanuatu)

    Club(s): Valentine FC

    Season(s): 2024, 2025

Missing data: 22 appearances in 2024, 0 appearances and 0 goals in 2025 (Valentine FC, not Mauriki). Player moved to Vanuatu United for the 2026 season.

    1. Did he play for Valentine at all in 2025?

    2. This new OFC League does make our system problems. Leagues have to be attached to a country - should I make it a New Zealand League, or are there other ideas?

I really don't want this one.

I Include them in my records, for all countries in CONCACAF, CAF, OFC and AFC regions. Europe is a bit of a grey area; some countries list them as A matches, some do not. As far as I know, no South American countries regard Olympic games in this period as full internationals.

That is pretty much how I understand it. I still think it would be good to include them, and I lean towards doing so. SiebenW and me have talking about this since forever, and we won't agree on this.

I will wait some more days for more opinions to come along, but at the moment, I think that I will include them.

Hi everyone, I need some opinions on this one.

The big question is: Do we include games and data from some Olympic teams from this period. It would all be non-FIFA of course, but all the eastern (and some western) european, asian african, (most?) north american and oceanian teams seem to count these all full national team games and seem to have played with their best teams available nearly all of the time.

There are two different opinions here at NFT. I would include the games of these teams as non-fifa games, and siebenW would not include them at all.

So please, give this one a think and then your opinion. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much, this helps a lot. The Bad Gateways go away if you refresh a few times, but that seems to be one big problem.

Very good find from mikaelj, this is exactly what we are looking for at the moment. The more you find of these, the better the site will work in the future. ;)

Well Niger used the "A" team, so it is the Chan team. It was used as preperation for the Chan final tournament
They used the same squad against Eritrea on may 26 and 28.
So this can surely be deleted or put as a non Fifa,

Both teams used 7 subs. Théodore Koubenou Jules was used

Ah, thank you so much. I added Theodor Jules, and left the games as Non-FIFA.

Yes, but why do they do that? We have some very few games with too many substitutions that are full and official FIFA matches. But that FIFA uses a game for their rankings does not make it official. FIFA has done so many mistakes in the past, they clearly do not check all the subs in friendly games. So a game with seven subs can never be a an official FIFA game unless we have confirmation, and an inclusion in the rankings is not a confirmation.

So, if I were to add Theodore Jules in that game (Any opinions on this by other people?), that would make the game unofficial.

Can't we just leave this match as non-FIFA match? As I wrote previously, we have a few matches played 70 or 80 minutes and some matches abandonned between 60' and 90'. It really annoys deleting matches after people have invested work into them. And it would really bother me having these players now without international cap.

Generally, I think the NFT page has some kind of more value by listing such matches omitted by other pages. Sadly, I see less and less of such games nowadays. So, can't we just be happy that somehow did the work uploadid the Qatari vs Lebanon friendly, having it set to non-FIFA, not affecting the official FIFA caps number.
Personally, I'd like to have even more matches like the 2025 Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar or the Eritrea vs Niger friendlies. Deleting now the matches we already have would be even worse and discouraging for the people working on the database.

Well, I want less games on the page. Main reason: People then come along and want us to add more and more games. "Oh, you have added this strange game, now you have to add these five strange games, and if you don't you are doing a very bad job, and I will pester you with emails forever."

This is what happens, and I don't have the time for it. So I won't be adding any strange matches anymore. If someone else wants to add them, I think I can live with that, but it does mean more work for me, because I have to answer all the mails and so on.

I want to concentrate on the stuff that is really important. And I won't do anything more, because if I do, the really important stuff suffers, as we have seen more and more during the last two years. The only way forward for seems to be to ignore more and more stuff that comes in. Because I just don't have more time.
