Wow, I am surprised that someone is taliking about captain of Russian National Team. Great, guys! I think Onopko was one of the best Russian players of 90's maybe few steps behind Mostovoi and karpin.

You had a good team. If you hadn't had this conflict with Sadyrin in 1994, you could have achieved some success during the World Cup in the USA.

And to think he was of Ukrainian birth ! Indeed a very good defender, his career lasted incredibly longly I think...

Ah, this brings back fine memories. I saw Russia in 1994, in their last group game against Cameroon, when Saenko had his moment of glory and scored five times. A pity that it didn't matter anymore, such great potential in this team.
