You don't miss much - Most of the time you're spot on.

However, the link I provided above from the line up translated from Russian opens up another query.

Initially the information I had was that Ihor Zhabchenko started this match. After conferring with your stats, this didn't tally up and it appeared that Pavlo Shkapenko started instead.

When I saw the line up from above (with Zhabchenko starting the game), this raised doubts again so I did some further checks and it does look like Zhabchenko started after all.

This is further backed up on rsssf as Shkapenko is not listed for any games during 1996 and only has 10 caps, while Zhabchenko has 11 caps, compared to the 10 that you have given him.

    Can of worms, anyone!?

No problem. I just wanted to share with you the differences i had found.

Since my first post, I have also noticed that wikipedia and rsssf credit him with 25 caps. Rsssf also list the date of his first game as 01.05.96 which is the date of the Turkey game.

The European Football Yearbook also lists him as coming on in the Turkey game, while I also found the following line up translated from Russian.

I think Vitaliy Kosovsky has played 25 International Games.

I might be wrong but I'm sure he came on as substitute in 3 games in 1996 as well as starting 1. You have him as starting 1 but only coming on in 2 games.

The information I have is that he came on in games against Turkey, Lithuania and the 2nd game against Portugal.

The cross referencing I have done suggests to me that he did come on at half time against Turkey (along with Viktor Skrypnyk and Yevhen Pokhlebayev - replacing Hennadiy Orbu, Dmytro Parfonov and Pavlo Shkapenko) although some sources have not reported this exchange.

    Hi

You have Elvedin Dzinic making a substitute appearance for Slovenia in 2009. I assume this is in the first World Cup play off game against Russia as he is listed on some references (including the UEFA website) as coming on for Zlatko Dedic in this game.
However the UEFA and FIFA sites still state he has yet to play for Slovenia despite UEFA listing him as coming on for Dedic against Russia!
Furthermore, some references list Zlatan Ljubijankic as the player who replaced Dedic against Russia.
I'm confused! Can you shed any light on this.
    Cheers

    Hi all.

I'm getting contrasting reports about the Montenegro line up for last nights 1-0 win against Switzerland.

There seems to be doubt over whether it was Elsad Zverotic or Ivan Vukovic who started the game.

Also Some reports are suggesting that Nikola Vuksevic started while others say it was Simon Vukcevic.

Is anybody able to clear this up for me.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.

I have the line up as:

    Alija Besic
    Claude Reiter
    Roland Schaack
    Jean Vanek
    Jeff Strasser
    Rene Peters (Patrick Posing 55)
    Jeff Saibene
    Luc Holtz
    Daniel Huss (Gordon Braun 78)
    Manuel Cardoni
    Sascha Schneider (Marcel Christophe 46)

    I hope this helps
