15 October 2010 Netherlands Antilles vs Guyana

  • Somehow I believe more in CaribbeanFootballDatabase's match report. They had been the top Caribbean website before merging into GlobalSportsArchive (GSA), see their match report here.

On the other side Digicel Football sponsoring website had several mistakes. Recalling it was the first try launching such a website giving data for all Caribbean matches. SKNVibes copied the Digicel article entirely, while it also seems that Netherlands Antilles' scorers in Guyana Chronicle were also copied from Digicel.

So at the end we have two source against each other: Digicel vs CaribbeanFootballDatabase, with CaribbeanFootballDatabase being the more reliable.

    Two more general points:
First, gdiaz I really love it that you open new threads. This way we can discuss such topics, without everything getting lost in the "If you find mistakes"-thread. Especially when cases are not clear or had been already corrected, like this.
Second, there is not much double-check here on NFT, so we never know if just the NFT contributor working on the database, just made a "stupid" mistake by scrolling down a player too far crediting an entirely different player the goal, or if there was indeed a different player. So, it's quite difficult to judge for users. What can help are good sources, like local sources or a video tube in which we could see the player (haven't find any of this match on youtube).

  • SiebenW Thanks for the reply. The third source listed seems to be a first-hand account from the Guyana Chronicle, which is a state owned newspaper from one of the teams involved in the match. It also . Would that be considered more reliable source we'd be looking for?

There's also this Facebook group post from a Guyana football group.

The only source crediting Delando I can find seems to be CFB.
